Rolling shutters for doors
A motorized rolling shutter closes off the entrance of your business or home when you are not there. It rolls up into a box above the door and comes down at the touch of a switch, a remote or a schedule.

For any door left unattended at night.
Storefront door
The shutter comes down over the entrance and window at closing time, then goes back up when you open.

Front door and patio door
At home or at the cottage, while you are away or overnight.
Sun and heat
Partly lowered, the shutter blocks direct sun on a glass door.

Brands and models are chosen for the door, the façade and the use. REFEXCO is not the exclusive dealer of any manufacturer.
Wall switch
Indoor or key switch, near the door.
Remote and phone
Depending on the motor chosen: remote, app or smart control.
Schedule
Opens and closes with your business hours, without you thinking about it.
Choice of slats
Picked for the job: security, insulation or letting light through.
Closed at night, clear during the day.
- A shutter must never block an exit while the building is occupied: we check which doors are used as exits before proposing a shutter.
- With an automatic door or an accessible entrance, the shutter goes all the way up during business hours, and the two controls can be linked.
- REFEXCO (RBQ licence: 5683-0334-01) installs the shutter and manages the job; the motor's power supply is installed by an electrical contractor who is a member of the CMEQ.
- City rules on façades are checked before the quote.
Frequently asked questions
Can a rolling shutter be installed in front of a storefront door?
Yes. The box goes above the door, on the outside or built into the façade depending on the space, and the shutter runs down two side tracks. REFEXCO measures the opening and checks the façade before proposing a model.
Can a door shutter be motorized?
Yes. The motor is hidden inside the shutter's tube and is controlled by a switch, a remote or a schedule. The power supply is installed by an electrical contractor who is a member of the CMEQ.
Can the shutter work with an automatic door?
Yes. The two controls can be linked so the automatic door does not run when the shutter is closed, and the accessible entrance is fully clear during business hours.
Do I need a permit for a shutter on the façade?
It depends on the city. Some regulate shutters on commercial façades, especially in heritage areas. We check your city's rules before quoting.
